The Milwaukee Road 261 did make it west on Milwaukee Road rails a few years ago, maybe even the 1990's. Did it make it as far west as Lemmon, South Dakota? Thanks for your replies.

I do not believe it got that far west.  I think it didn't go beyond the end of the Twin Cities Western trackage and not into South Dakota.

I remember riding it on a fan trip at Montevideo, MN.  After the weekend trips, it ran as a charter for a local politician on the way back to Minneapolis.  I don't remember the date and my slides are not where I can easily get to them to check .
