C&NW 'ABA" .... Huron style

I was in Huron SD (again) on 10/14/72 ... and of course there were Alcos. Here's an example: C425 #402, #slug BU40 (x;CGW RS2) and C425 #404.

If you want to be "correct" BU-40 is a Slug not a "B-unit" since B-Units have an engine in them and Slugs don't.

Yep. The trackage here was all low speed, 25 mph or less, so tractive effort was much more important then speed.

Even late seventies it was track East of Huron and trolley class West of Huron!
10 mph seemed fast, surprised they could find transition bars for that big a jump.
