New Orleans aerial pic, 1943

A vertical, from 15000 ft it says, but it's sharp enough
to be worthwhile. Click on it and it will enlarge.

This must be a new shipyard?

A North arrow would help with the second photo.  It's roughly oriented with south located near the top of the photo.  This the Industrial Canal located south of I-10.  Florida Avenue crosses near the center.

If you search within the on-line collection with the word "railroad" quite a few hi-res aerials of RR scenes are found like this one of N&W's Lambert Point coal terminal (including piers and N&W roundhouse with an articulated steam locomotive visible) in Norfolk captured some time prior to 1941.

N&W Lamberts Point

There are also several aerials of RR facilities captured in the '20s of Alexandria VA depot and various yards.

Neat stuff!
