OC&E at the mill, 1986
Author: roustabout

Here are a couple photos from two trips I took down to Klamath Falls to catch the OC&E working in 1986.  The first photo I think was taken from Highway 97, watching the train spot the log loads.  The second was a bit later, from a friend's Cessna 177 Cardinal making a tour of the railroad from 500 Camp to Klamath Falls.  Both photos are of relatively the same area by the old Weyerhaeuser mill.  I was just chatting with a fellow who had the job of rebuilding a bit of the railroad after BNSF derailed a car and drug it away ways so I got the urge to look up my photos.

Two great views of the Weyerhaeuser Mill.  Thanks for digging them up.

Always good to see the OC&E.

Past by last week and noticed there's two water towers and a few buildings still there, not much left at all. There is some trackage and buildings in place over by SR 66. Spotted a BNSF GP in just about the same spot as photo #1 but not sure what was up.

t4p.
