Nostalgia & History > CR Blue Looking goodDate: 04/14/25 18:13 CR Blue Looking good Author: ns2557 October 1996 had me at Morrisville Pa shooting what ever I could find. This set of power was what I found. They more than likely came in on one of the EB TV/Mail Trains, maybe TV2M, and are waiting to lead one of the Mail or TV Trains WB later overnight. Notice the size, style and placement of the CR Logo's, 1 CR EMD in CR Quality Paint, 1 CR EMD in plain ol "Can Opener" CR Paint and 1 GE with a different CR Q Logo as well. Who said CR in later years couldn't be interesting. Units in shot 1 are from L-R CR Q SD50 6762- CR SD50 6758- CR Q C40-8W 6127. That blue sure looks good when clean.
2nd shot is a roster of the 6762. Thanks for stopping by, Be well, Ben ![]() ![]() Date: 04/14/25 19:33 Re: CR Blue Looking good Author: refarkas Two first-class Conrail images.
Bob Date: 04/14/25 20:18 Re: CR Blue Looking good Author: Gonut1 Ben,
From being more or less from that general area, a few times I approached the driveway to the Morrisville yard and tower/office. It was not a friendly looking place and well above the public street, I was never enticed to drive up to where one could see or photo anything. More power to you. My long departed railfan buddy, Dr Dick/Rich Pattison would have had us in the tower for a look around! I'll never understand how he could manipulate railroad people to provide us access, but I never complained! It was all good! Thanks for a look up the driveway I never entered. Getting kinda tired of NS basic black-and-white. Thanks for a nice pair. MC Date: 04/15/25 13:43 Re: CR Blue Looking good Author: JUTower Most excellent. I miss those days.
Date: 04/15/25 13:50 Re: CR Blue Looking good Author: King_Coal That blue really brightened what could be a depressing scene. Thanks for posting..

It was different times back in those days however. Jim Baker Riverside, CA Edited 1 time(s). Last edit at 04/16/25 10:08 by RailRat.
