As best I can tell Chicago District Electric Generating Corporation was an early version of Commonwealth Edison.

That's the former State Line Generating Plant in the background. When it was build in the 1920s it was the largest plant of its kind in the world.
It's gone now, and Hammond would like to see an income generating property in its place. I don't think that anything is in the works.
Oh yes, it was originally an Insull property.
