I use to often see the Desert Winds through Glendora, CA growing up in the early 80's. Only rode it to Vegas and back on one occasion, though.

I rode it only once - Denver to LA after a two-week long business trip to the Mile High City. It was February, and I'll never forget riding through Gore Canyon in a snow storm, and then going to sleep out of Salt Lake and waking up at Caliente and wondering where in blazes we had gotten to. Lunch in the diner as we passed Cajon Summit was pretty nice too, with a sandwich in one hand and a new copy of Chard Walker's Cajon in the other.

I would love to repeat that trip, but not very likely. Sigh.
