Santa Fe SD39 near Summit in '70

Santa Fe SD39 4002 led another SD39, a pair of GP35's and a GP30 on an eastbound freight just west of Summit, CA, in Cajon Pass in Winter '70.

I love snow shots on Cajon! By themselves, they make the area look far different than the usual. Then toss in the pre-1972 allignment, and most people likely will not recognize the location of this photo.

The 4002 was a frequent visitor to Raton. I don't believe it was equiped as a locontrol master though. It was always the second or third unit on the head end or one of the helpers.
