Busy today scanning some old pictures with a new scanner, and thought I'd post a couple.

Here is N&W GP30 # 2905 at the West end of Hobart, IN on the Chicago District.

I think this was summer of 1989, since that's when they replaced the rail at that location. I was younger and not nearly as organized then (not implying that I am now either... ) but I seldom recorded dates, and other info.. which I'm quickly learning was a bad habit to form.

Caught this coal train bound for the steel mills in Gary,IN.
Same location, West Hobart, IN

Interesting power consist when compared against nothing but large AC's on unit coal much anymore (at least here in Omaha)
