Sometime in '70 [this is before I kept records] the westbound York Canyon, NM, to Kaiser Steel, in Fontana, CA, was getting ready to start down the steep, 3%, South track grade between Summit and Cajon [the grade lessens to 2.2% Cajon to San Bernardino] with 6 SD39's up front and 4 more cut in mid train in Remote Control mode.
