Time for a Rock Island Break!

The Extra 4377 South arrives at El Reno Junction in March 1980. El Reno Junction is the switch to head into the west end of El Reno Yard.

This picture was taken a couple of weeks before the Rock Island's Shutdown at the end of March 1980.

The Extra 323 West at Harter Yard in Oklahoma City in March 1980 also.

IIRC, the second unit, U25B 234, went to the Maine Central after Shutdown. It was one of the few GE units in the "Bankrupt Blue" paint Scheme.

When the red and yellow units such as the 323 in this view were clean, they were really attractive. This red and yellow Rock Island scheme and the MoP Jenks blue scheme were two of my favotite 2nd generation diesel paint schemes.
