Nostalgia & History > weather pix

On a cold, snowy night in Ogden, UT I tried to get a shot of this moving
6945 as the signals popped on. Much to my dismay they didn't light till the
cab of the second unit passed them. I was back stepping in the drifts as best
I could, but had to take the shot. K 25 wide open at about 1/30th. The train
was moving at 2 to 3 mph. My old Dodge van to the right was my home many a
night by the UP.

At the Riverdale end of the UP yard in Ogden, I hand held this shot
of lightning behind the SD 45 about to head up Weber Canyon. I planed
the shot by catching a bolt on the second pulse. Didn't always work,
but it was a bit too light for time exposure.
