Plenty of engines sit around the pit at the SSW yard in E. St. Louis, Il in the early 90's

not to be picky, with the big AC GE's on the property this would be mid 90's. Specifically this should be post-1995 or probably 1996 from the good amount of weathering on the lead AC4400 in the foreground. Still, great shot of all of the SP power stored together that is IMPOSSIBLE to duplicate today. Looks like a C44-9W with the split "S" and "P" in the middle, a small baby-boat next to it, a MK SD40M-2 rebuild with a SD45 carbody to the left, another dash-9 or AC next to that and a speed lettered SD45R to the right long hood forward - NICE!

Have some more pics to share?!?

I am surprised the SP police did not immediately pounce on you. They were famous for such actions at Valley Jct. in East St. Louis.

NEVER have I had any problems in that area. General rule of thumb, DON'T cross the tracks AND stay behind the pole line. We used to sit up there literally all day watching trains.
