Nostalgia & History > Need ID of SF Passenger TrainDate: 02/28/05 11:41 Need ID of SF Passenger Train Author: steamco I took this photo back in 1965 of a Santa Fe passenger train coming into Los Angeles along the LA River. It was taken sometime after 2 PM, but not sure what train it is? Has this business car, anyone help?

It also arrived in LA in the afternoon. The Chief arrived around noon, the Super Chief/El Capitan at 8 AM, and the Fast Mail about sunset.

Well, an informed source thinks that may be the 58, now on the Arizona and California, Date: 02/28/05 14:15 Re: ID SFe Passenger Train Author: timz It's headed compass-north, up the river? So it's unlikely to be the Super/El Cap or Chief?
Date: 02/28/05 14:38 Re: ID SFe Passenger Train Author: stash Grand Canyon was the only train via Fullerton, as I recall. The Super Chief, El Cap and Chief ran via Pasadena.
