Here we see JTPX 2001 all spiffied up with nowhere to go. Refurbished for DJJX owner group that does the locomotive leasing by Connersville & New Castle Railroad in Connersville, Indiana.

Anyone able to help with what type, model, etc and maybe some background.

This is at the C&NC shops and was awaitng final dispostion.
No reporting marks or numbers.
Supposededly, IIRC, there was a group out of New York trying to get this engine for refurbishing, because of historical value.

IS this an RS1?

Same place as last one. A ford Remote Control engine was rehabbed and waiting for the call to duty.

The gray and white unit next to ex ATSF 1663 sure looks like an RS1: offset smokestack (indicates 539 type engine), main line rather than switcher trucks, short hood at far end,
