21 Years Apart At North Portal
Author: BNSFhogger

Here are three SP SD45Rs coming off the waterfront line in April of 1984. The locos are running light to The Interbay RH after dropping the LAS train at Stacy Yard. This train will become later be numbered 112. This train is now the MLYDINB (Lakeyard to Inbterbay Manifest). The track to the right is the newly opened waterfront streetcar line.

Here is the same view today. The waterfront line is gone. There are many new buildings and the waterfront streetcar line has concrete ties. The train on the left is an Interbay grain train and the one on the right is the ZCHCSSE light power heading to the RH after dropping it's train off at South Seattle.

Wow. That is quite a change! Looks like the SP power came out of Stacy at the north end and continued up the waterfront. I'll have to try and come up with some of these "before and after" shots myself.

They are fun to look at. Thanks for sharing!

Brian
