These are photos taken at South Station prior to a Boston to Providence and return demo run in summer of 1993($20/ticket, IIRC). Not only are catenary wires not yet strung but the platforms are still open as the overhead bus station / parking lot construction is just beginning. The X2000 was pushed/pulled by a pair of Turbotrain power cars. It was a great ride. I would have been very content had the X2000 been deemed worthy for NEC use.
