Nostalgia & History > SP GP35E in KodachromeDate: 05/26/05 21:55 SP GP35E in Kodachrome Author: choochoocharlie On October 17, 1987, rebuilt GP35 #6304 with SD40T-2s #8356 and #8557 head out to their train, going by the rip track near the "One Spot" in the Eugene, Oregon yard. Just by coincidence these two shots were taken on Kodachrome 200. This one was rebuilt by Morrison/knudsen.

Did not get the full designation of the train, but it was a westbound "K" train. Which, I believe, means that it contained hazardous or dangerous materials in one or more of its cars. Larry Abarr, whom I knew, was the engineer, and was the son of another SP engineer. Have a note here that said they had to change out the radio as it could not receive transmissions.........C.C.Chas.
