1. CP 1400 is eastbound between Thompson and Spences Bridge, BC. 6-99

2. CP 5646 is eastbound at Kamloops, BC on 7-95.

3. CP 5980 is eastbound approaching Cisco, BC. 6-92

From your title, I thought you were going to show photos of a broken rail. Great photos, though, better than my alternative.

Neat to see CP 5646, the only SD40-2 to get the lower "CP". All the others were C:P as in C <headlight> P.

Also, the eastbound near Cisco BC is likely freight 992, the eastbound Vancouver-Calgary freight which performed on line switching at Kamloops, Sicamous, Revelstoke and Golden. Note a Union Pacific chip gon behind the units. As CP's fleet of converted GS (General Service) gondola cars with extended ends and sides wore out, some chip gons were leased.

Finally, CP got out of the woodchip hauling business completely and arranged for Dave Chambers Trucking or Arrow Transport to service the sawmills.

For years the 5646 and her sister 5633 were the power for the Honda Plant in Alliston, she was a good engine, with few problems. Not sure why we lost her, but no engine since then has been as reliable.
