Freight and Passenger on the Former BC Rail

Two CN and one BCOL unit (#4608) pull an unusually long - c90 cars - Train 546 southward near Horseshoe Bay and then again at Dundarave in West Vancouver.

The Province of Alberta's VIP Olympic train between Whistler and Vancouver (using Rocky Mountaineer equipment) heads south near Mile 14, and at Dundarave. A better slogan might be: "Alberta: Where there's snow in February."

Hey Hey Hey...how come that Alberta train is southbound so early? I heard it wasn't to leave Whistler unitl 17:30. Inquiring photographers want to know.

I don't know if this was a one-time change to the schedule or the new routine; I heard RMR 8015 South on the scanner and took off in pursuit.

They might have been bringing everybody back for a Canadian Gold medal presentation. After all, they were supposed to "own the podium" [What kind of fool would make that statement?].

There are a few days where there is an early departure from Whistler, leaving around the same time that the regular Whistler Mountaineer would depart.
