Even though I retired more than a year ago, I continue to receive emails from the Ontario Provincial Police regarding road closures and incidents.
The following was in my inbox this morning:

CENTRAL REGION

ROAD ADVISORY

CPR Police advises that due to an emergency train stop in the area of ESSA Township/Alliston at approximately 5:15 AM on 02DEC2011, the following intersections are affected and shut down:

Albert St / Dufferin St.
Victoria St / Dufferin St
Con Rd 2 / 89 Hwy - Essa Twp.
Con Rd 14 @ Tottenham Rd

There will be a detour through 5th Side road ESSA Twp and 13th Line.
Updates will be given when received.
Please avoid the affected areas.

Perhaps a traffic problem caused by a motor car gathering at Alliston Station?
