Canadian Railroads > Algoma Central Info needed.Date: 08/29/12 12:55 Algoma Central Info needed. Author: railwaybaron I plan to visit and ride the Algoma Central in September. Any one know when road freights operate on the line between Sault Ste. Marie end Oba, ON? I will be staying overnight in a cabin at Oba, any idea as to CN traffic there? Any idea when the Huron Central operates? Thanks in advance!

Freights are very short (10 cars?) and run at night south of Hawk. The only real freight traffic on the AC is the phospate rock that comes south from Opasatika to the CN interchange at Oba.
