CPR 7009 & 4104 on the move
Author: britchie

These guys were mixed in with a manifest train west bound through Chase, BC at 11:20 this morning. No idea where they are going but it is still the best paint scheme going.

"CPR 7009" is the ex-Squaw Creek Coal H16-66, one of only two "Baby Train Masters" still in existence.

Thats must have been one heck of a jaw dropping surprise? Where were they stored?

This has to be one of the rarest "unexpected" catches of the year. Great shots. You'll be able to tell of this day for many years.

I must say, I don't think I ever knew either of these existed. Never seen a C-Liner outside of a picture in a book... and roadworthy enough for transit, too!

Hopefully these 2 are going to the museum at Squamish for storage, or maybe a nice warehouse in Vancouver? Both are privately owned and had been stored at CP's Ogden Shops in Calgary for years.

It is sad. You didn't see tagging or hardly any other graffiti in and around Calgary fifteen years ago and here they are now bold enough to hit two locomotives. The idiots learned from their neighbors to the south, I guess.

I used to think that Canadians exhibited better behaviour than Americans...

They could have learned from their neighbors to the east too. Toronto is every bit as "bad" as many US cities.

Damn "taggers".....my preferred term is damn "graffiti vandals". an
american who also hates graffiti. purchasing spray paint within
the city of Portland Oregon requires a signature and ID..... Arlen

Paint is a relatively easy fix - I just hope all the copper is still where it's supposed to be.
