Canadian Railroads > McLean Yard sign disappears

The new sign erected recently to rename the former BC Rail North Vancouver Yard as CN's McLean Yard has disappeared.

It was first shown at Trainorders in a post by Loleta on April 20 and I photographed it myself on April 26, but on a visit today I saw that it has been removed. Perhaps this was to keep it out of harm's way once work begins (eventually) on the Philip Avenue overpass (it was right beside the gated crossing of the avenue across the yard throat).

Perhaps it was removed by a disgruntled "former BC Rail" employee. The name may change, it'll still be North Van for those that were there. 10 years ago next month?? that CN officially took over (stole) BC Rail. Ah it's all history now. Doug
