MLW Monday Ocean at Aston Jct.
Author: kgmontreal

In July 1975 the Halifax-bound Ocean flies through Aston Jct, Quebec in the summer sunset.  Four of MLW's finest, an FPA-4, FPB-4, and a pair of RS-18s, are in Run 8.

Awesome. I remember seeing the Ocean and Scotian behind MLW power in the mid-70's; incredibly long trains racing along the Quebec flats behind four snarling 251's. Given Alco's fortunes in the US at the time and the total dominance of EMD passenger power south of the border, seeing such trains entrusted to MLW/Alco was a real treat. Unfortunately, my photos are not as good as yours.

Great photo!  FA/FB, 2 RS18's a long train and an awesome trail of smoke.
