MLW Monday Last look at a Prairie Sentinel
Author: tsokolan

I'm late once again for MLW Monday, but whatever.....

3 Great Western Railway M420's prepare to spot the elevators at Coronach Saksatchewan in August of 2010. This scence cannot be duplicated, since that good looking silver Wheat King met her maker last week and is now only a memory.....

Always good to get the elevator with  the train;especially the prairie skyscaper type.

What's the current situation with the M-420's?  How many are running?

2002 just got a rebuild prime mover installed, so the GWR is back to 3 running M420's, plus the 2 B23-7's and 2 B40-8W's...

That's good news.  When to do usually operate?

Last I heard the schedule is pretty erratic--trains operate more or less on an "as required" basis.  Best to call ahead to get an idea of what's happening.  As far as I know Roger Gadd is still the manager.  My wife and I spent a day down there in 2007 or 2008 on our way from Langley to Edmonton and Roger and the rest of the staff were really helpful with information...
