In electric mode, finally!
Author: Mberry

Until the opening of the Mascouche line last December, AMT's fleet of dual-mode ALP-45DP's had operated 100% in diesel mode. With the opening of the Mascouche line, some of them are finally being used in electric mode (through the Mount Royal tunnel) followed by diesel mode for most of their run.

The first shot shows AMT 1207 for Mascouche stopped at Canora Station just north of the tunnel, this is the train I took from downtown. Power is AMT 1366.

The second shot hosws AMT 1209 for Mascouche leaving Canora Station and approaching Mount Royal Station with its engine (AMT 1364) having its pantograph up. The north end of the tunnel is visible in the distance.

For point of comparison, the third shot shows what most of the trains through here have, namely MU units on Deux-Montagnes line trains. This is AMT 945, the 1650 departure from Central Station.

This fourth shot shows the same train (AMT 945) stopped at Canora station. Above is CP's Adirondack sub, where AMT 187 for Saint-Jérôme is passing at the same time with AMT 1323 pushing.

Does AMT ever hassle anyone about taking pictures on the platform ?

I've been hassled a couple of times by the AMT security, as have many others. Not this time though.
