Whoa.
Presumably during the coast to coast trip in the Vega, with the Yellowhead Pass hiway being recently opened.

Note that the lead locomotive is CN's first SD40 5000, the first of hundreds of SD40's and SD40-2's.  CN 5000 was earmarked to be preserved, but was unfortunately scrapped. Slightly older CP 5500 has been saved.

Is it just me, it doesn't look like that track is very heavily ballasted for a busy mainline?
