Canadian Railroads > CP + Norfolk Southern???Date: 11/17/15 19:38 CP + Norfolk Southern??? Author: LKeithR Just read on a news feed that CP is proposing a "merger/combination" with NS. Such a move would create the largest rail system in North America. Anybody heard anything more?

Author: aehouse God forbid that Hunter Harrison and Bill Ackman be allowed to work their magic on another railroad. BTW, CP stock--which rocketed up after Harrison's slashing of costs--is DOWN 33 percent this year.

Date: 11/18/15 14:58 Re: CP + Norfolk Southern??? Author: tomstp NS does not want to merge with CP and has made it plain. Now Hunter is threatening NS management of going direct to the stockholders with "pie in the sky" statements about what CP stock would be worth in a year with the merger estimating that it would be a profit of about $95 US for each share of NS shareholders. There is no way the US Surface Transporation Board would let the merger go through. Ackerman is behind the whole thing.]
