Canadian Railroads > on this day 2006Date: 02/06/16 05:01 on this day 2006 Author: hoggerdoug Feb 6, 2006 once again at Exeter BC on the former BC Rail. Had something different for our power, holding the flag for CN was the 7049, rebuilt from the 4566 in 1992. Anyhow, for a tired old GP-9 it sure was peppy little unit working the Exeter Switcher. The unit still "long hood leading" even though the short hood had been chopped. I have ridden as a trainman many GP-7 and GP-9 units, but had never operated one. That GMDL prime mover certainly was music to the ears after so many shifts with a GE barking in my ears. Doug

So surprised that when I saw this train coming at me as I was driving through Quesnel, I quickly grabbed my camera and pointed it out the window as we passed each other in opposite directions. I'm thinking they don't get very many "drive-by shootings" in Quesnel but they did on this day. LOL!
