End of the Line on BC Rail
Author: loleta

This is as far north as you can go: end of track in Fort Nelson, BC, 980 miles from North Vancouver. On August 12, BCOL 4651 gets pretty close.
More to come.

No, this line parallels the Alaska Highway and was built after the road.

Surveyors had determined the highway route was too steeply graded for a railway.  The Dease Lake line also has coal deposits which could be developed in the future.

It ends at an industrial park a few miles south of Fort Nelson. There are half a dozen or so customers.
