I'm about to embark on a bit of a roadtrip, so today's pictures will be the last from me for a little while.  Maybe one of the other local members can pick up the slack (we know you're out there!).

​There was some high cloud hanging around as 120 was about to enter the yard at 11:36 this morning.  The upside of having shorter days is that the sun isn't nearly as high around noon time, making this shot quite acceptable from a lighting perspective.  The Japanese Knotwood is threatening to take over this location, and a few favourite scenes here near mile 6.75 of the Bedford Sub have become unshootable in recent years.

​With all DC power today, 4 units were assigned to 120 (as usual, there was also a DPU, not shown).  3 ACs can handle a similar train, but with a lower HP/T ratio, it probably takes longer to get over the road from Montreal to Halifax.  The lead SD70M-2 has just taken the switch from the transfer track to the Rockingham yard lead.

​Later in the day at 17:22, the Rockingham local, 507, was shoving what had been the end of 120 towards the Ceres container pier.  This location is just a hundred yards east of the first two shots, at a location known locally as Birch Cove.  ACL, Hapag-Lloyd and OOCL containers go to the Ceres Pier at Fairview Cove.  ZIM and Maersk boxes go downtown to Halterm.

After shoving that long cut of cars into three tracks at Ceres, 507 had two tracks to pick up for that evening's 121.  They're shown here pulling off the pier at Fairview Jct. at 18:23 and hauling down track RG-10 in Rockingham Yard.  Once that task is done, they still have to pick up the intermodal traffic at the HIT before 121 can put the train together and get out of town.

​Speaking of 121, they were waiting in the wings as 507 pulled past, freshly serviced and ready to haul their train to BIT in Toronto, with stops at Moncton, Joffre and Montreal.  121's power as usual, is exactly what came in on 120 that morning.  In this case they didn't even rearrange it.  8875 was the DPU this morning, and will now lead, while 8849 will be the DPU.
