Canadian Railroads > Help Please on 4 More of Roger Puta's Slides

These shots were taken in the order shown according to the numbers the processor put on the slides.  I assume then they were taken the same day.

1. Caboose meet Alberta. May 1985.  I have several photos taken here of these two trains.

2. CN 5324 and 5118, two CGTX tank cars and caboose CN 79843, Alberta. May 1985.  I have three of Roger's shots taken right here. This one was taken just before the next two because they have nearly consecutive slide numbers.

3. and 4. VIA 6511 Alberta. May 1985.  Same VIA train at the same place. These slides were particularly dark and lacking in color except for the blue.

Third one is just west of Henry House AB., and the fourth one is near Swan Landing, possibly east switch Brule Mines

I thought that photo is "Brule".  IIRC this is where the line from Grand Prairie comes in and the photo is from the highway bridge which takes you to Grande Cache.

I think Phil may have got his photo numbers mixed up, but here's my take:
#1 Looks like Entrance AB. Shot from the hightawy 40 overpass looking west.

#2 What Phil said, west of Henry House

Looks like all coaches behind the baggage car, so I'd guess it's the Skeena to Prince Rupert.

Thanks Trevor, the Skeena would have been my choice having chased it from Prince Rupert to Jasper in September 2009 on my way back from Alaska..  But I was not sure what else might have been running in 1985. And the 1985 train looked nothing like the 2009 train.  Here are three shots from that chase.

1. Banff Park and train
2. West of Terrace, BC
3. West of New Hazelton, BC

Yeah, thats the Skeena. While it wasn't uncommon for the Super Connie to run with 2 E-series duplex sleepers and a cafe lounge in the mid/late 1980s, it still wouldve had a B-unit in the consist.
