Canadian Railroads > The 'overpass to nowhere' will soon go somewhereDate: 09/24/16 18:51 The 'overpass to nowhere' will soon go somewhere Author: Mberry This afternoon I shot a trio of trains passing an overpass in Dorval, Qc with an interesting story. Transports Québec started building an overpass which would bring highway 20 to the nearby airport about 6-7 years ago, but then realized that it had not obtained permission from CN or CP to build pillars on their right of way. Part of the overpass at right in the photos had sat unused and useless all this time, but work has finally begun anew as an agreement with the railways was reached a year ago.
1-First up was CN 327 with a pair of CSX ES40DC's and a CN GP38-2W (CSXT 5273, CSXT 5277 & CN 4762) and 97 cars. 2-Half an hour later CP 119 is by with CP 8802 & CP 9706. 3-Just a few minutes later, as CP 119 is still passing at left, CN 377 passes with CN 2932 leading (CN 3027 was the DPU).
