a few for "on this day"
Author: hoggerdoug

April 22, 2007 at the BC Rail Prince George loco shop. It was a gloomy day and had time for a few photos before taking our power off the shops.

I don't think that I've ever seen a slug that looked like that before. What was it built from, and when? What trains did you use it on?

Pretty much a standard design. Built from an Alco RC3. Used in Yard Switching.

S405 was built at the heavy repair & rebuild shop in Squamish from retired RS3 unit 559. BC Rail at one time had 10 of these slugs built from retired and wrecked locomotives. They were strictly for yard service MU'd to a slug equipped "mother" unit.
