I assume Roger was a friend of yours who is no longer with us.. Can you give us a little Bio of who he was ?

Roger and I went to High School together. We railfanned together through college. He worked in operations planning for the Santa Fe for awhile. I'm told his work led to the current double track on the Transcon. He moved to San Francisco and worked a short time for the WP and left to start a bus company.

Roger was a mileage freak and a passenger train freak. He traveled widely to meet those interests. He was a prolific and darn good train photographer. In 1990 he caught a train to the Pearly Gates. I am now scanning and posting his thousands of train slides.
