Canadian Railroads > MLW Monday - Eight, Plus Two EMDs, on the Head End at DorvalDate: 11/20/17 20:06 MLW Monday - Eight, Plus Two EMDs, on the Head End at Dorval Author: feclark From April 26, 1986, around 1815, we have WB mixed freight on CP coming up to Dorval, with 23,500 hp and not a DPU in sight! The power is M-630 4559, M-636 4700, M-630 4562, C-424s 4242 and 4229, a pair of Conrail GP38s, maybe 7789 and 7777, then a trio of RS-18s, 8783, 8780, and 8782. The M-636 had been de-rated to 3,300 hp by this time. The whole lash-up looks a little overdone; excuse my EMDs.

Thanks for putting the hyphens in all those model numbers. MLW would be proud. Ken Goslett Date: 11/21/17 06:30 Re: MLW Monday - Eight, Plus Two EMDs, on the Head End at Dorval Author: Mberry Cool shot, certainly you weren't alone as KG pointed out!

If my log book and memory are serving me well, this is from a trip wherein a number of BRS folk met up with a carload from Kingston, then spent the day shooting, mostly at Taschereau Yard (we had arranged St. Luc as well, but there was a miscommunication and that went poof). On the way out of town, the Ottawa vehicle stopped for this shot; I'm pretty sure Dave Stremes and Earl Roberts were part of the group. If we were vampires, we wouldn't have cast shadows, so this is proof we are not the undead. Fred |
