Where are you getting your info from?!? They've rebuilt about 50 to date, with the numbers still increasing as the project continues (it's NOT stopped!). Altogether, 45 of the second series of AC4400CWs (9583-9683, designated CP2) have been/are being rebuilt, and numbered 8100-8144. Next will be 35 of the first series (9500-9582, designated CP1). Hi So what are they doing with the other CP1s? Are they going to get a overhaul at some time too?? That only leaves around 18 I think.
