Freight Car Friday - Depressed Centre Flat and Coil Steel
Author: feclark

From Saturday May 12, a couple of freight cars that are a little less ordinary.
1. At Brettville Junction, ARLX (A&R Leasing) 103 is part of #116 at 0747; four trucks and the distinctive positive camber to counteract the loaded condition, reminiscent of the 86' skeleton container flats CP had.
2. The "A" end truck pair with bolster; I'm not sure what defines the "A" end on a car like this that has handbrake wheels at both ends. Input from anyone?
3. At East Edmonton, just north of the diamond and crossing Railway St., is SMW (St. Mary's Railway West) 382154, a 42' covered coil steel flat, built 11/05 if I decipher the info patch correctly. This was at 0822 in a NB consist on CN, posted two days ago with GMD-1u 1438 at the head end.
