Here is an old post https://www.trainorders.com/discussion/read.php?1,762040 and the wiki page https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Scale_test_car Date: 09/17/18 18:18 Re: Ontario Northland Author: icancmp193 Hard to believe the little ON has 5 scale test cars!

Date: 09/20/18 21:24 Re: Ontario Northland Author: eminence_grise T&NO 137 had a brief career on the ONR (current name for T&NO) as an excursion engine in the 1960's until damaged in a roundhouse fire. Note the curious cab, never used in active service.
137 is one of two ex-Canadian Northern Railway 2-8-0's preserved today, the other being Kamloops Heritage Railway 2141. 137 was sold to the T&NO long ago, was a coal burner where 2141 is an oil burner, and 137 does not have some of the modifications which 2141 received in CN service. It would be nice if someone took measurements from 2141's cab to rebuild the cab on 137. |
