Back in the ‘70s when I started working and could afford to upgrade myself from coach to section and eventually to a Roomette/Duplex Roomette....that was my preference. But now just the thought of the toilet in the same room and all that surrounding carpet!! Gross and something to be avoided!! Guess I’ve been spoiled by those comfortable Renaissance Bedrooms with their enclosed toilets and showers. But I suspect that at that time, those illustrations were not far off the mark of reality.
