Canadian Railroads > Moving slowly in MontrealDate: 11/12/18 17:31 Moving slowly in Montreal Author: Ray_Murphy Faced with a solid array of red signals at Turcot West, VIA #624 eases to a stop just before noon on Sunday.
The reason is that a major portion of the Turcot highway interchange is being dismantled a couple of miles east of here, and rail traffic seems to be confined to a limited number of tracks through the demolition zone (CN 120 passed by moments earlier on the second track. It had a red-yellow-flashing yellow signal indication, which leads me to believe just the south track was in use at that moment). In the meantime, with the major closure of Highway 20 in both directions for several days, the RTM/EXO added 7 additional round-trip shuttles to the commuter schedule between Dorval and Vendome/Lucien L’Allier Friday and today. You can barely see that there's a 'paddle' in the rear coupler. A better view of it is seen here, with VIA 6411 bringing up the rear of VIA 62, stopped at Dorval Station on Saturday. Michael |
