bunch of on this day
Author: hoggerdoug

Nov 19, 2008 and I must have had way too much spare time during this trip.  Most of the 21 images were taken while making a pickup of copper concentrate at Gibraltar BC on the BC Rail Prince George sub.

crosswalk and safety chain
back on the main, mile 344 ahead on the left
speedometer, showing 34 mile per hour and the minus 0 2 indicates we will lose 2 mph in the next minute at this rate of deceleration.

thanks for looking.  Doug

I fully expect the last photo to be a bear, as you run back to the cab.

Thanks for your 'on this day' photos!

Okay, I have to ask, regarding the third photo, what is the "CUTE" decal? The FRA glazing notice seems a little oversized, too.

CUTE, was Canadian Union of Transportation Employees sticker for Local #1 Locomotive Engineers.  Years ago the BC Rail Engineers broke away from the BLE and formed our own union, CUTE.    MoW was Local 6 and the spots in between were for other crafts on BC Rail, Local #2 was for the Trainmen but they never joined. Eventually after a good run as CUTE, the Union was dissolved and the various trades and crafts joined other Unions.

FRA glazing does seem rather large, pretty much standard decal.

Yes, we are running away from a bear in the last photo, a quick escape at 34 mph.
