CN 377
Author: Mberry

A late CN 376 arrived in Montreal very early Saturday morning with two BNSF GEVO's, a very rare lashup in eastern Canada. The plan had been for them go back out on CN 377 (the normal rotation for 376's power) and with blue skies I went out to shoot this CN 377. It turned out that the BNSF units went on local CN 593 and CN 377 got CN 2618 & CSXT 460. With not much else expected on CN westbound, I decided to chase CN 377 and I got quite a number of shots of it.

1-Heading west through Dorval.

2-Approaching CN Caron on Montreal's West Island.

3-Approaching MP 22 of CN's Kingston Sub at Île-Perrot.

4-Passing MP 22.

5&6-Crossing the Ottawa River towards Dorion.

7-Approaching the Saint-Dominique crossing at Coteau-du-Lac

8-Passing under the signal gantry at MP 37.8.

9-Just as CN 377 passed, CN 372 with GECX 2039 leading was stopped near the crossing, before it backed up towards the yard.

...which has to be the understatement of the year!

Getting out of the parking lot in Dorval, the lights, hopping on 20, slowdown on I'île Perrot, slowdown before Dorion, all the lights through Dorion, getting off 20 to get trackside west of Dorion, yes you did quite well, my congrats.

Thanks, chasing a westbound freight from Dorval to Coteau is not that hard, though I did almost miss the last 377 shot... parked, ran out and got one shot just in time.
