It came north on an oil train, through Winnipeg and Saskatoon to Wilkie SK, then north to Lloydminster, where it was added to the grain train and turned back south to Moose Jaw.

Freedom isn't free !!! Thank a veteran whenever/wherever you can. Or, you can always walk the walk and go "over there" and sign up to fight for Isis. They say the chow is good and they supply you with a young sex slave. What's not to like !! Keep your eye on the sky and you might just see the missle with your name on it before it's lights out. My father fought in the Second World War. He was in the British army in 1939. If my memory serves me correctly, the United States didn't join in until a few years later .... and not until the Japanese kicked the crap out of them in Hawaii. Don't try to teach Canadians about courage Mr Rowland! Thank you. Will MacKenzie Dundas, ON Date: 01/21/19 13:51 Re: Stranger in town, from down south - KCS 4006 Author: co614 Fair enough Will. I'll only do it when its really needed such as a few of the above cheap shots.

However, your comment about the Japanese "kicking the crap out of the US" really fails to understand much besides the propaganda of the event. This was used to great advantage on both sides, but more so by the US. With all due respect to the loss of life, in the end what did the Japanese achieve? They sank or heavily damaged 8 obsolete battleships as well as some other vessel. This forced the US to walk away from them and focus on newer ships and even more critically, aircraft carriers. From a damage standpoint, the Japanese failed miserably. They did not sink one modern, fast battleship. They did not sink a single aircraft carrier. They did not destroy the tank farm or seriously damage the repair facilities. The base remained fully operational and as such, enabled the US to stop the Japanese at the Battle of Coral Sea and defeated them at Midway, a mere six months after "they started it". They never did recover from the defeat at Midway, which would have been impossible for the US to win if Japan really had "beat the crap out of the US" at Pearl Harbor.
