Passing of Bryce Lee (thumper)
Author: BobE

I received word last night that my friend Bryce Lee (thumper here on TO) had passed sometime in the last few days.  It was natural causes---he'd been in failing health for some time----but I didn't receive word of details.

What I do know is that he left behind no family and wished no services.

The name is familiar.  Did he write a column on Canadian activities for Railpace Newsmagazine?

Bryce was a wealth of knowlegde on Canadian railway subjects. I remember his countless contributions to Branchline Magazine as well as news items for the other print publications. Hopefully his photo collection can or will be preserved for future railway fans to enjoy.

He had made noises about contributing a wealth of images to a museum in Ottawa, but I don't know if he ever did it.

He did engage me to sell a few thousand images, mayve 8,000, and between his collection another from southern Ontario he had, there were another 80,000ish slides, I think.

Sad to hear this. My he RIP. Thinking of his family and friends in their time of loss.
I had several conversations with him, online and in real life, over the years.
