MLW Monday in Windsor, ON
Author: moonliter

This week's photo are from Windsor, ON.  Back in 1977 there was CN, CP, Conrail, the C&O, N&W and the Essex Terminal Railway.  That day I managed to see all of the railways including a transfer through the Detroit Tunnel with 3 units, all from the DT&I. Three roads had MLW that day, my CN Tempo train, which I did not get a photo of, made to the station just in the nick of time to board. Was able to catch the ETR and the CPR running MLWs.

Photo 1:  ETR S-3 No.103 crossing the C&O at PM Jct. Windsor, ON  April 11, 1977.  This engine was built June of 1952.

Photo 2: A pair of M-636s waiting for their next assignment at CP Rails Windsor roundhouse and car shop.  4719 & 4717. They were built by MLW in 2/70 and 1/70 respectively.  April 11, 1977  Windsor, ON.

Photo 3: The one and only M-640, 4744.  This unit was built in March of 1971. Today 4744 calls Exporail, home.  To the left is former baggage car 4251, a product of Canada Car & Foundry back in 1950.
