Pacific Wilderness Rwy
Author: MontourMan

When the PW Rwy  based out of Victoria shut down operations in 2001, all the equipment was moved back to Ohio except for one heavyweight Grand Trunk Western coach.
This was donated to a local group.  Does anyone one know who this group was and does this car still exit on the island, if so a recent picture would be nice too.
Thanks

The group is the Saanich Historical Artifact Society, with premises at 7321 Lochside Drive in Saanichton.

Scroll to the bottom of this page for a partial view of the car, which has been restored to GTW livery:  http://heritageacresbc.ca/contact/

The car started life as Pullman 12-1 sleeper Royalton.

Here is what the car looks like after being repainted.  This image is from 2011 (taken from Google StreetView) but from all accounts its still there and looks the same.

We gave that car to them as several of their members had been on our Pacific wilderness team and we felt that the cars limited value made it a better donation item vs. the expense of railing it back to Ohio.

I'm pleased to see that they've taken good care of it.
