Does anyone out there now the capacity of Central Station’s platform tracks 7 through 22?

Were tracks 7 through 12 ever used for intercity trains?

Did Cn or Via ever split trains at the platform and then reassemble them prior to departure?

I am new to the site and I hope someone out there can help. 

I have many memories of Central Station and I have noticed they have performed concrete restoration at platform level and there is no longer the strong smell of diesel fumes at platform level which I attribute to the use of head end power.

I know when the Gaspe and Ocean were running together they were split in the summer when they were busy.
The Gaspe train used to run seperately during the Christmas season...
