Churchill Train #1
Author: CNStratford

Since there seems to be some interest in the Churchill Train, I am going to post some pictures.
Picture 1 - VIA 693 waits just east of Winnipeg Station as a container train rolls by.  Picture taken from Winnipeg Railway Museum.
Picture 2 - On the Rivers sub between Winnipeg and Portage la Prairie - really the only high speed running on the trip.  Picture from Park Car.
Picture 3 - VIA 693 near Portage la Praiie.

Wow. Looks more like the Winter Canadian than the Churchill train I remember. It had only a counter diner, two coaches, and two E Class sleepers. Time have obviously changed for the better.

But no diner on the Churchill train this summer.  I think that's why the Skyline is there, for food service.
